The Legend
Stories don’t really disappear.
In Tulsa’s vaudeville and jazz days, when houses like the Dreamland, the Orpheum, and the Tulsa Theatre filled with late-night crowds, performers shared a small piece of backstage folklore.
Every now and then, a black cat would appear near the wings.
Stagehands across town said it showed up on the best nights — slipping quietly through backstage before disappearing again when the curtain fell.
Some believed it was the quiet guardian of a good show.
Productions came and went, but the black cat was said to always return.
And every so often, in a room built for laughter and live performance, some swear they see it again…
just beyond the stage lights.

So it begins…
Tulsa’s theatre café — a home for professional improv, sketch, stand-up, magic, circus, and live theatre.
An experience at The Black Cat isn’t just a show.
It’s a room alive with laughter, stories unfolding on stage, and a curated selection of beverages to enjoy along the way.
Come for the performance.
Stay for the company.
